I am Gayathri Hariharan from Laurel, MD. This recipe is good for digestion. Works great if you take it first thing in the morning. Tastes great too. I have sent some recipies earlier like Vengaya Thogayal, Baghara Beingan, Kaju Kathli, Kozakkattai and Carrot Halwa

Ginger Lehyam

Ingredients

1/2 cup fresh cut Ginger
1 1/2 tsp. Coriander seed
1/2 cup fresh cut Ginger
1 1/2 tsp. Coriander seed
1/2 tsp. Cumin
1/2 tsp. Ajwain
1 tab.sp. Ghee
3 tab. sp. Brown Sugar powder.

Method:

  1. Soak ajwain, jeera and coriander seeds for 2 hours and grind it to a fine paste with ginger.
  2. Add all these in a microwavable container and cook it for about 5 to 7 mts.
  3. Then add the brown sugar and ghee and stick the container back in the Microwave.
  4. Cook the lehyam for about 10 mts. but in-between take out the container and stir it.
  5. Cook it till the ghee glistens on the sides and there is no water left in the lehyam. Cooking time might wary.
  6. Store it in a jar.
  7. 3 table sp. of honey can be added instead of brown sugar.
