Hi, My name is Rajani Nair residing in the UAE for the past 8 years with my husband and kids. I have a rather quick receipe for mutton curry which is quite popular with my friends and I would like to share it with you all.

Mutton Curry

Ingredients

1/2 kg mutton washed and cut into medium pieces.
For ground masala
2 tablespoon coconut either desicated or fresh
4 pcs of garlic
2 medium tomatoes
1/2 inch ginger piece
Roast the above with a few drops of oil and grind into a fine paste.

Other Ingredients

2 onions cut into length wise
3-4 tsp oil
1/2 tsp haldi powder
2 tsp dhania powder
1 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
1 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
salt to taste and corriander leaves

Method

  1. Heat the pressure cooker and add the oil
  2. When it is hot add the cut onions and lightly fry till golden colour.
  3. Now add the ground masala paste, and all the powders mentioned in *B ingredients and keep stirring till the oil starts seperating from the masala.
  4. Now add the mutton and enough water for the meat to cook.
  5. Keep the cooker till it gives atleast 8 to 9 whistles.
  6. Remove from fire and add corriander leaves for garnishing.
