Pizza
Ingredients
For the dough:
Plain flour (maida) -450 gm.
Dry yeast-2 tsp.
Salt-1 level tsp.
Sugar-1 tsp.
4 teaspon oil or 2 tablespoon margarine.
Warm water to make the dough.
For the sauce:
Red tomatoes-1 kg.
Onions-3.
Cloves-6.
Sugar-3 tsp.
Chilli powder-1 tsp.
Oil- 4 tbsp.
Salt to taste
For the topping:
Capsicums -2 (cut into rings).
Grated cooking cheese-225 gm.
A few red chillies (coarsely powdered).
Method
To make the dough:
- Sieve the flour with salt. Add the oil & mix well with your fingers.
- Make a well in the centre and put sugar and yeast.
- Pour 1/2 teacup warm water (not hot water) over the yeast.
- Wait for 15 mts.
- Mix the yeast in the flour and add enough water to make a dough.
- Add water little by little for this.
- Cover the dough with a very big vessel or a wet cloth.
- Leave it till it doubles in size.
- Before spreading it on the tray mix the dough again.
- Divide the dough according to the size of the tray.
- Grease the tray with oil.Roll out the dough about quarter inch thickness on the greased tray with your palm.
- Leave it for 15 mts.
To preapare the sauce:
- Boil the tomatoes.
- When the skin starts peeling, drain the water & cool.
- Cut the tomatoes & put it in the liquidiser. Do not add water.
- Sieve the tomatoe pulp.
- Heat oil in a vessel & add the slit onions (Cut lengthwise).
- Cook for 5 mins.
- Add the pulp, salt, sugar, chilli powder & boil for 10 mins.
- Now spread the sauce on the rolled out dough in the tray.
- Arrange the capscicum rings with space between each ring so that when you cut the pizza you will get pieces each with a capscicum.
- Sprinkle plenty of cheese,coarsely powdered red chillies.
- Bake in a pre-heated oven at 500 degrees farenheit for 20 mins or till it
turns golden brown.
