This is Poorani Mohan from Miami. Here is a snack, PUFF PASTRY, I learnt from one of my friend and liked it so much. I hope you do too.

Puff Pastry

Ingredients

Puff pastry sheets - 1 (Pepperidge farm) available in publix
Carrot - 1
Potato - 1
Peas - 1/4 cup
Butter
Egg - 1 (only yellow part)
Onions - 2 (medium size)
Tomatoes - 2 (medium size)
Coriander powder - 1/2 tsp.
Garam masala powder - 1 tsp (or) Curry powder - 1 tsp
Chilli powder - 3/4 tsp
Lemon juice - 1 tsp.

Method :

  1. Keep the pastry sheet outside for 30 mts.
  2. Cut Onions and Tomatoes finely.
  3. Cut Carrot, Potato into a small piece.
  4. Heat tawa pour oil, and add Onion and fry it well till it becomes soft.
  5. Add tomatoes and fry for 2 mts.
  6. Add vegetables and fry and add Coriander powder, Chilli powder, Garam masala powder, salt and fry it well.
  7. Sprinkle some water and allow the vegetables to cook until it becomes soft. (fully cooked)
  8. Add lemon juice and mix it well and keep it aside.
  9. Cut the pastry sheet into 4 pieces.
  10. Brush the pastry sheet with little butter and place the masala mixture inside the pastry sheet.
  11. Cover the edges of the pastry sheet using little water.
  12. Brush the top portion of the pastry sheet with little butter.
  13. Then brush the top portion with little egg yolk.
  14. Preheat oven to 325 degree.
  15. Brush the baked sheet with little butter and keep the puff pastry.
  16. Allow it to cook for 45 mts or until it becomes light brown.
