Hi,
This is Veena from New Jersey. My previous recipes were Coconut Coriandar Rice and Ragi Roti. This is very easy and fast to prepare. Hope you enjoy it.

Jatpat Pulav

Ingredients

Basmati rice - 2 cups
Mixed vegetables - 1 cups
Cloves - 2 or 3
Cinnamon sticks
Cardamom - 2
Cashew nuts - little
Chilli powder - 2 tsp.
Coriander powder - 4 tsp.
Gram masala - 2tsp.
Saunf - pinch
Garlic ginger paste - 2 tsp.
Water - 4 cups
Salt - to taste
Lemon - 1
Coriander - 1 bunch

Method:

  1. Wash rice and put it on a paper or in a plate so that water gets dried. Open the cardamom (not fully) and put it to rice.
  2. Keep oil in cooker (Directly) add cloves and cinnamon sticks fry for 2 minutes. Add cashew nuts also and fry till light brown.
  3. Add garlic ginger paste and fry for 2 min. Then add vegetables and fry.
  4. Add all powders to the vegetables and fry till they are coated with powder.
  5. Add rice and fry till they get mixed with vegetables then add water and salt.
  6. Close the cooker lid and keep in medium flame for about 5 min without keeping the whistle. After 5 min. keep the whistle for 1 min.
  7. After the pressure has gone, open the lid, put ghee and lemon juice.
  8. Decorate the pulav with coriander.
