Green Gram Dal

Ingredients

Onion - 1 small onion
Green Gram - 1/2 Cup (do not use cut gram)
Dhania Powder - 1/2 tsp
Chilli Powder - 1/4 tsp
Ginger - small piece
Garlic to taste (optional)
Salt to taste (3/4 tsp)
Coriander leaves

Method :

  1. Cook the green gram well.
  2. Chop the 3/4th of onion and Chop into small pieces.
  3. Grind the remaining piece of onion with dhania powder, salt, ginger, garlic into paste (use litle water).
  4. Fry cut onions in 2tsp of oil (vegetable).
  5. Add the paste when the onion turns brown.
  6. Stir for a while.
  7. Add the cooked daal and cook till they mix well.
  8. Garnish the daal with dhania or coriander leaves.

This can be served with chapathi.

Time taken : 15- 20 min (cook daal), 15 min for the rest.
