Thalipettu

Ingredients

4 cups Rice Flour
1 cup Besan
1 tspn. Turmeric
1 tspn.Cumin Seeds
1 tspn. Sesame Seeds
Pinch of Asfoetida
Salt as per taste.
1 medium sized Cucumber
3-4 medium sized ripe Tomatoes
4-5 Green Chillies
1 bunch Coriander leaves.
Oil for frying.

Method:-

  1. Grate the cucumber, don`t drain the water you get from it.
  2. Grind the tomatoes and make puree of it.
  3. Grind the coriander leaves, green chillis and keep aside.
  4. Take a broad mouthed vessel and put rice flour, besan, grated cucumber, tomato puree, chilli-coriander paste, salt as per taste, turmeric powder, pinch of asfoetida, cummin seeds, sesame seeds. Mix it well and make a dough of it.
  5. Keep it aside for 15-20 minutes.
  6. Then convert the dough into small sized balls.
  7. Press each ball on a greased surface in the shape of puri and deep fry in the oil.
  8. Your crispy thalipettu are ready.
  9. Serve hot with Yoghurt and raw Tomato Chutney.
