My name is Rekha Hegde, from Bombay. This is my second contribution. First one was Rava Idli. Hari Makai Matar Mushroom is my own recipe which my husband enjoyed eating and suggested me to send this recipe to this site. It is easy to make. Hope you will like it.

Makai Matar Mushroom

Ingredients

Button mushrooms -200g
Fresh Corns -1/2 cup
Green Peas -1/2 cup
Mint leaves -1 cup (ground to paste with little water)
Tomatoes - 2 large ones (grind)
Onion -1 large one (finely chopped)
Ginger- Garlic paste - 1 tbsp
Garam masala powder - 1 tsp

For the white sauce you need :

1 tbsp Butter
1 tbsp Maida (plain flour)
1 cup Milk
2 tbsp grated Cheese
Salt and Pepper to taste

Method :

  1. Pressure cook corn and peas in very little water upto 1 whistle.
  2. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan. Put in onion and fry till transparent i.e, 5 mins.
  3. Put in chopped mushrooms, boiled corn and peas, tomato paste, mint paste, ginger-garlic paste, Garam masala pd, salt to taste. Cover and cook for 10 mins
  4. Heat 1 tbsp butter in a pan and put 1 tbsp maida and stir over heat till the raw smell disappears. Remove this pan from fire and add 1 cup milk, salt and pepper to taste. Put this pan back to heat and stir till thick. Add cheese.
  5. Add this white sauce (step 4) to the gravy (step 3). Cover cook for 5 mins.
  6. Serve hot with phulkas. (serves four)
