Tomato Koot

Ingredients

3 tsp oil
1 tsp mustard seeds
6 dried whole red chillies
1 to 1 1/2tsp home made curry pd/MTR's rasam pd (as per taste)
4 medium size ripe tomatoes
1 tsp lemon juice
Salt to taste
Chopped coriander

Method:

  1. Heat oil and add mustard seeds.
  2. When mustard seeds splutter reduce heat and add dry chillies. Let it stand till chillies turn brown.
  3. Now add curry or rasam powder, stir and add cut tomatoes
  4. Cook till tomatoes are stewed.
  5. Let it stand for 10 mins and then add lemon juice and garnish with chopped coriander.

This dish is good with chapathi, puri or even to mix with rice. Its also delicious with omeletes and toast too.
