Hi,
I am Vidya Iyer. I stay with my husband Prakash in New Jersey. Always been an ardent reader of Bawarchi contributions and have tried out many of the recipes. This is one of my recent favourites and can be made spicy for the spice lovers! Go ahead, try it and let me know how you liked it.

Mushroom Pepper Medley

Ingredients

1. Button mushrooms- 6-7 pieces
2. Green peppers - 2 pieces
3. Salt- 1 pinch
4. Chilli powder - 1 tsp
5. Crushed Pepper powder- 1/2 tsp
6. Teriyaki sauce (any store available brand)-2 tsp
7. Onions- 2 pieces
8. Any oil (I use olive oil) - 2 tsp
9. Basil leaves (dried ones are good enough) - few
10. Parsley/ Cilantro (coriander)- for garnish

Method:

  1. Wash and clean the Mushrooms and dice into small pieces.
  2. Cut the peppers into cubes.
  3. Heat oil in a frying pan and add basil leaves and onions diced in long pieces. Sautee till they turn transparent.
  4. Add mushrooms, salt, red chilly powder, crushed pepper and top with teriyali sauce. Stir well and cook till vegetables turn soft. Garnish and serve hot.

Note:

Goes well with plain hot cooked Basmati Rice or Chapattis and Naans.
