Hello Friends,
I'm Shelly from Scotch Plains, New Jersey. Bawarchi is my favorite site and I was introduced to it a couple of months back. Since then I've tried new recipes and they have turned out really good. My husband relishes my cooking. I always look forward to cooking dinner & hop on to Bawarchi as soon as I get back from work. Thanks a lot for all your contributions and here is a nutritious recipe from me. Please send your suggestions and feedback to richausa@hotmail.com

Palak Soup

Ingredients

Palak - 1 bunch
Onion - 1 medium
Milk - 1 cup
Water - 1 cup
Oil - 2 tblsp
Jeera (Cumin Seeds) - 1 tsp
Lavang (Clove) - 4
Maida - 1/2 tblsp
Pepper - 1/2 tsp
Salt - 3/4 tsp or as per taste

Method:

  1. Chop onion & Palak.
  2. Heat oil in a pan (preferably a non-stick pan). Add jeera and cloves & wait till it splutters. Add onion & fry till soft.
  3. Add palak, fry till wilted.
  4. Add Maida & fry till raw smell disappears.
  5. Let the mixture cool, then blend it in a blender.
  6. Boil the mixture along with milk and water after adding salt & pepper.
  7. Server hot with grated cheese.

Note:

Maida is just a thickening agent, recipe can be made without it too. You may alter the quantity of milk & water as per your liking.
