Hi! This is Raji from Bangalore and i am hooked to your bawarchi section looking for easy but nutritious recipes. I have two girl children and me and my husband work together in software consultancy. Hope you enjoy my recipe and do get back to me at raji_s@yahoo.com

Aloo Paratas

Ingredients

1 kg sieved atta (flour) 1/2 kilo boiled potatoes (in hot condition) 3 spoonsful cheese spread (grated cheese can also be used). 2 finely chopped/grated onions finely chopped chillies /corriander leaves turmeric powder/dhania powder/salt as per requirement. a little warm water

Method

  1. Mix onions, chillies, chopped coreander cheese spread, and the powders well, without wasting the juices from the onions and set aside for 5-10 minutes.
  2. Then mash the potatoes into this in hot condition into a very smooth paste. now add the atta a little at a time, and knead into a smooth paste. add water if necessary. (the dough is at is best when kneaded in the kneader).
  3. Now set this aside for an hour and then roll out the paratas and cook in preheated tawa.
  4. These are best when eaten with tomato chutneys, pickles and tomato ketchup.

My husband says they are best when eaten straight from the tawa, hot !!!!!

Radish paratas can also be made in a similar condition. And these can be grated and used raw, without throwing away the juices. Chopped mehti leaves can also be used .
