I am a regular visitor of your site and would like to contribute one of the speciality my mom used to make out of the lamb chops. (Spicy Chops ). This recipe I would like to dedicate it to her as she passed away last month the same date. This is just to express my love towards her and how much a mother means to all of us.

Tasty Mutton and Spicy Chops

Ingredients

1/2 Kg Mutton (desired pieces) but chops used for frying
1/2 Kg Onions cut finely
1/4 Kg Tomatoes cut finely
1 tsp Ginger Paste
1 tsp Garlic Paste
1 tsp Green Chilli Paste
1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
2 tsps Coriander Powder
1 tsp Jeera (whole)
1 tsp Garam Masala Powder
Salt to taste
Coriander Leaves

For Chops :

Garlic crushed - 6-8 flakes
Jeera (whole) 2- 4 tsps
Black Pepper whole - 1 tsp
Red ChilliPowder
Salt to taste
Juice of one Lemon
Garam Masala Powder - 1 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Kadi Patta 8-10 leaves
1 tsp Mango Powder
Coriander Leaves to garnish.

Method :

  1. Put desired oil in a pressure cooker
  2. Saute onions until golden brown, adding mutton pieces next and keep frying until the oil separates, then add tomatoes cut finely, ginger, garlic paste, and the dry masalas and keep frying till the oil separates.
  3. Then add desired water and cook until tender like giving 6-8 whistles in a pressure cooker.
  4. When cooked garnish it with coriander leaves and garam masala powder.

Mutton is ready to eat with Rice or Rotis.

Method for the Chops :

  1. Just remove the chops from the gravy.
  2. Grind the garlic flakes, whole jeera and black pepper whole to a crushed consistencey.
  3. And then in a pan add oil, add mustard seeds to splutter and then add curry leaves and you can add the ground masala to give you a nice aroma of the garlic, jeera and black pepper.
  4. Put the cooked chops removed from the gravy and then add red chilli powder, amchur powder, desired salt.
  5. Keep frying until the chops gets completely dry and they are coated with the masalas in the pan.
  6. Add lime juice over it and some coriander leaves to garnish and serve hot with some onion rings in a plate.
