This is Vidhya again from Hong Kong. This time I wish to share with you a very simple salad, made with bitter gourd. I'm sure those who do not like karela would definately love this salad. Happy cooking!

Karela Salad

Ingredients

1 lb Karela
1 tbsp Lime Juice
Red Chilli Powder
Salt to taste
Oil for frying

Method

  1. Wash and slice the karelas into thin rounds. You could use a chips cutter for this purpose. Apply salt and leave it for an hour.
  2. Drain out the water and sun dry it for a couple of days.
  3. Heat oil in a kadhai and fry the dried karelas till golden brown. (Do not deep fry)
  4. Sprinkle red chilli powder and mix well with lime juice before serving.
  5. Garnish with finely chopped fresh cliantro and onion.
