I am Lalitha Kattoju, NJ. I came across your site and thought I'd submit something a neighbour has shared with me! These are very light & airy and can be served for breakfast or as a light snack with your coffee/tea. If you have any questions, please call me.

French Breakfast Puffs

Ingredients

1 1/2 cup Flour
1/2 cup Sugar
1 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
1/2 tsp Nutmeg
1 Egg
1/2 cup Milk
1/3 cup melted Butter
1/4 cup Sugar**
1/2 tsp Cinnamon**
1/4 cup melted Butter**

Method :

  1. **Combine these ingredients in a small bowl. Pour teaspoonfuls of this mixture on top of hot muffins
  2. Combine flour, 1/2 cup. sugar, baking pwder, nutmeg and salt.
  3. In another bowl mix milk, beat eggs slightly and 1/3 cup butter.
  4. Add egg mixture to flour mixture. Stir till just moistened (may be lumpy).
  5. Bake in 350 degree oven for 20-25 minutes.
  6. Drizzle on cinnamon mixture. Serve warm.
