Tamarind, Salt, Asafoetida, Jaggery.

For Frying:

1 tbsp Dania
5-6 Black Pepper (milagu)
1 tbsp Kadalai Paruppu (bengal gram)
1 Red Chilli
1 tbsp Coconut

Method

  1. Get the tamarind extract and pour it in a vessel, you can also put chopped tomatoes to add to the taste of rasam. Allow it to boil.
  2. Meanwhile cook the dhal in a pressure cooker and fry the items given above. Allow it to cool and grind it in mixie (except dhal).
  3. Pour everything into the tamarind extract water along with the cooked dhal and allow it to boil for sometime and serve it hot and enjoy.
