Hi: I'm Sharan, I work in Princeton, NJ. I live with my wife, Deepali in Bensalem, PA. This recipe is specifically for students living in the US or anyone who needs a quick satisfying meal. Deepali says, this homestyle GP is better than the one they sell at Wendy's :-)

Garden Pita-Homestyle

Ingredients

One big tomato
One small green pepper
One small onion
One small can of beet root
1/4 small cabbage
Handful of coriander leaves (to taste)
+ any other vegetables that you like
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste
Lemon juice to taste
2 teaspoons sugar
Chat/sandwich masala to taste
Pita bread or Onion nan (recommended)

Method

  1. Cut all the vegetables as desired.
  2. Ofcourse, the beet is ready to use from the can.
  3. Add salt, pepper, lemon juice, sugar and chat masala to taste.
  4. Mix the salad thoroughly.
  5. Microwave a pita or onion nan for 1-1/2 minutes.
  6. Place desired quantity of the salad in the pita/nan.
  7. Roll the bread around the salad and enjoy the great tasting Garden Pita-Homestyle.

Duration:
15-30 minutes depending on how fast you can cut the vegetables!!!

Servings:
You could have upto 4 garden-pitas with the quantity of vegetables mentioned above.
