Hi there!
I am Lizy Solanki from Toronto, Canada. I am a regular visitor of this site and love to experiment with food. Here is another favourite recipe of mine which I hope everybody would like. Comments via e-mail to : lizy_solanki@hotmail.com

Spinach Parathas

Ingredients

2-1/2 cups Chapatti Flour
1/2 cup Besan
Salt to taste
1 cup pureed Spinach (first boiled and then pureed)
1 tbsp. Sesame seeds
Finely chopped Green Chillies to taste
1 tsp.whole Cummin seeds
1 tbsp. Chat Masala
1 tsp. Garam Masala (optional)
Oil for frying

Method:

  1. Sieve the flour and besan.
  2. Add salt, Sesame seeds, Cummin seeds, chopped green chillies, 1 tbsp. of oil, chat masala, garam masala and pureed Spinach.
  3. Add warm water as needed to make a stiff dough.
  4. Roll parathas and shallow fry them until golden brown on both sides.
  5. Serve with yogurt.

These parathas have great nutritional value for both adults as well as kids. If you do not like the color it gives to the parathas, you could use chopped and lightly cooked Spinach instead.
