Hello, I am Lakshmi
Jayaraman, staying at present in London. I love cooking and trying
out new dishes, and love to experiment with different ingredients. So,
here I have tried to make some almond burfies, "phataphat". It
is very easy to make and delicious too. So happy cooking and eating.

Instant Almond Burfies
Ingredients
Almonds - 100gm, soaked in water for about 2 hours and the skins removed.
Powder milk - 2 tbsp,
Sweet bread - 4 to 5 slices,
Powdered into crumbs in a mixie.
Powdered sugar - 3/4 cup.
Almond essence - a few drops.
Method:
- Allow the skinned almonds to dry. Powder them in mixie.
- Put all the ingredients together in a heavy bottomed vessel, and keep stirring on a reasonably high flame.
- When it somes together like a ball, you can remove from heat, and either spread it on a wellgreased plate and cut into squares when cold, or put them on
little tartcups, when still hot, and shape them individually.
- You could decorate them with little almond pieces or with a sultana or candied fruits.
- If you like, you can add a little yellow colouring, while cooking, to give it a good colour. This, of course, is optional.
So, here's to some fast, easy and tasty cooking. Do let me know your opinion after you make it.
