Hello, I am Lakshmi Jayaraman, staying at present in London. I love cooking and trying out new dishes, and love to experiment with different ingredients. So, here I have tried to make some almond burfies, "phataphat". It is very easy to make and delicious too. So happy cooking and eating.

Instant Almond Burfies

Ingredients

Almonds - 100gm, soaked in water for about 2 hours and the skins removed.
Powder milk - 2 tbsp,
Sweet bread - 4 to 5 slices,
Powdered into crumbs in a mixie.
Powdered sugar - 3/4 cup.
Almond essence - a few drops.

Method:

  1. Allow the skinned almonds to dry. Powder them in mixie.
  2. Put all the ingredients together in a heavy bottomed vessel, and keep stirring on a reasonably high flame.
  3. When it somes together like a ball, you can remove from heat, and either spread it on a wellgreased plate and cut into squares when cold, or put them on little tartcups, when still hot, and shape them individually.
  4. You could decorate them with little almond pieces or with a sultana or candied fruits.
  5. If you like, you can add a little yellow colouring, while cooking, to give it a good colour. This, of course, is optional.

So, here's to some fast, easy and tasty cooking. Do let me know your opinion after you make it.
