Green Tomato Salad
Ingredients
3 fresh unripe tomatoes, diced
2-3 green chillies, chopped
1 small peice ginger, finely diced
Salt to taste
2 teaspoon fresh lime juice
1 teaspoon oil
1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
1/2 teaspoon urad dal
1/4 teaspoon asafoetida powder
Method:
- Combine diced tomatoes, chillies, ginger and salt. Mix well.
- Add lime juice, mix and set aside for a few minutes.
- Heat oil in a small pan, saute black mustard and urad dal till the mustard
starts to pop.
- Add asafoetida powder and saute for a few seconds and combine with tomato.
- Serve with rice or chapathi meal.
Note:
You can substitute ripe tomato for unripe one. If you like add finely
chopped onion.
