Pasta Meal
Ingredients
1 lb. Pasta (any kind)
2 medium Plum Tomatoes, (chopped)
3 Green Chilies (chopped)
1 clove Garlic (minced)
1" piece Ginger (minced)
1 large Onion (minced)
1/4 cup Green Peas
1 medium Carrot (cut in 1" long thin strips)
1 cup cooked Chick Peas
1 tsp. Chilli Powder (vary to taste)
1 tbsp. chopped Coriander
1/2 tsp. Turmeric powder
1/2 tsp. Garam Masala Powder
1/2 tsp. Cumin seeds
1/2 tsp. Mustard seeds
Salt
1 tbsp. Oil
Juice of 1/2 Lemon
Method:
- Cook pasta as per box directions.
- In the meantime, heat oil, add cumin and mustard seeds.
Add the onion, garlic, ginger and saute till onion is cooked.
- Add the other vegetables, except tomatoes. Stir till they are cooked.
Add the tomatoes and all the spices and mix well.
Add pasta, chick peas and salt and mix well.
- Add the lemon juice after removing pan from the fire.
- Serve hot sprinkled with the coriander leaves.
(This dish tastes similar to pulao)
