Hi friends,
This is Neeta Kotian from California (San Diego). This is our family Favourite. Try it. I learnt it from my sister-in-law. I assure you, you won't be dissapointed. Its easy-to-make, simple and tangy-tasty on your taste-buds. Ideal for a simple, quick meal with plain white rice. (Also is a great combination with fried fish) Hope you like it. Tomato Soup

Ingredients

Tomatoes (4-5) medium size (blend into a Paste)
Cumin seeds(Jeera) 3/4 tsp
Hing 1/2 tsp.
Green chilli(2-3 small)---chopped
Curry leaves(7-8)
Red chilli Powder(1 tsp)
Turmeric (1/4 tsp)
Gram flour (2-3) heapful small tsp
Oil to fry.
Salt as desired (For taste)

Method

  1. Heat oil in a shallow utensil. When Oil is heated , Add gram flour and fry in oil till they become a pasty-pinki in colour and consistency (Dont over-fry).
  2. Then add cumin seeds.when they begin to pop, add curry-leaves,green chillies and fry a little.when the greeen chillies seem done add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and Tamato paste. As soon as you add this the mixture will begin to splutter,Cover and let it cook on medium for 2-4 minutes.
  3. Add desired amount of water and salt. Let it come to a boil. turn off the stove, garnish with Corriander leaves (Optional)
  4. Serve Delicious Tamato soup with White Rice.
