Steamed Harra Jhingas

Ingredients

1 pound of large Shrimp, cleaned and deveined
1 big bunch of Romaine Lettuce Leaves
Oil
Salt
Thread

Grind together to make a paste:

Salt
Half a Coconut
4 Green Chillies
Half bunch of Coriander leaves
2 cloves of Garlic
1 inch piece of Ginger
Half of a small Onion

Method:

  1. Take the shrimp and apply salt to it. Then marinate it in the green paste for about 5 hours
  2. Take each leaf of lettuce and place around 5 shrimps in each leaf and tie the leaf round the shrimp, with thread, so as to cover the shrimp entirely. Make sure that the paste goes into the wrapped leaves along with the shrimp. Leave it tied like this for an hour.
  3. Then place the Shrimp wraps on a steanm bowl and place the bowl in a larger bowl with boiling water and steam 4 wraps at a time for about 5 minutes.
  4. Once all the steaming is done. Take the wraps and place them in a baking dish in the oven at a temperature of 500 degrees or on broil for 3 minutes to get the leaves charred and get the charboiled flavour of the leaves into the shrimp. Take out immediately and serve hot.
