Strawberry Flan
Ingredients
Flan:
4 Eggs (separated)
4 oz. Icing Sugar
4 oz. Plain Flour + 1/2 tsp. Baking Powder OR
4 oz. Self Flour
1/2 tsp. Strawberry Essence.
Filling:
Fresh Strawberries
Strawberry Jam (warm)
Whipped Cream
Sugar
Chocolate curls to decorate
Method:
- Beat egg whites till stiff.
- Beat egg yolks and sugar, add essence and add flour, fold in egg white. Bake in greased round pie dish at 200oC for 10-15 mins. Turn on wire rack. Cool. Turn the cake on the back side upside down.
- Halve the strawberries and arrange on the cake. Brush with strawberry jam. Decorate with whipped cream and lastly with chocolate curls.
