Hello, I am Sunita Athri and married for 8 months. I stay at
Cochin, India. I am a G.S.B Konkani and we make some different type of
dishes.My entry is Valval which is a Konkani Dish.

Valval
Ingredients
Pumpkin 150 gms.
Potato 250 gms
White Pumpkin 150 gms
Chemb 150gms
Coconut Milk 1 cup thick extract & 2 cup thin extract
Spilt Chillies 2
Asafoedita 2 pinch
Coconut Oil 1 tbsp
Salt to taste
Method:
- Chop all the vegetables in long shape.
- Boil the vege in a vessel by first putting the chemb & potato and above
that the pumpkins with chillies. Boil in the 2 cups of thin extract of coconut if needed
add some water.
- When the veges are half boiled add salt and cook for some more time.
When the veges are cooked add first thick extract of coconut milk, asafoedita and coconut oil.
- Remove and serve with Rice and Dal as a side dish.
