Hi, I'm Neeta. This is again, a good dish of my granny. The other one I contributed is Masala Bhendi Fry. Have a look and u'll be inclined to try it once. Do try it, it's very handy if u have to prepare something instantly after a tiring day of work. Just 2 steps to prepare it and it's done in less than 1/2 an hr.

Mixed Masala Daal

Ingredients

Moong Dal (1/4 measures)
Toor Dal (1/4 measure)
Chana Dal (1/4 measure)
Massor Dal (1/4 measure)
Cloves - 4
Cardamom Seeds(Elaichi)
Cinnamon Sticks
Onions - 2 (chopped)
Tomatoes - 1 (chopped)
Green chillies - 2 (sliced)
Ginger & Garlic - paste (1 spoon)
Mint leaves
Salt- to taste
Haldi (turmeric)
Chilli powder (1/2 teaspoon)
Saute: Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds (jeera)- 1/2 tsp

Method:

  1. Put all the ingredients in a pressure cooker and cook till the daal is done.
  2. Take a vessel, put oil, (mustard & cumin) seeds, and the cooked daal.
  3. Keep on stove for about 15 mins on medium gas. Sprinkle a little cut coriander.

Serve hot. Serves about 4. This dish is good with hot chapatis or a bed of rice.

Note: The measures of daals is as per ones wish.
