Pizza-Made-Easy

Ingredients

Maida or All Purpose Flour - 250 gms
Olive Oil or Refined Vegetable Oil - 3 tsp
Baking Powder - 1 tsp
Shreaded Mozzarella Cheese - 100 gms
Tomato Puree or Tomato Sauce - 2 tsp

Preparation

  1. Take the All Purpose Flour in a bowl, add Baking Powder and 1 teaspoon of Olive Oil to it (You can also use Refined Vegetable Oil. But don't use any strong oil like those of Mustard or Sesame).
  2. Knead the dough well as you would for preparing Chappati, Puri, etc. Cover it with wet cloth and keep it aside to 2 hours (The wet cloth will prevent it from drying).
  3. After 2 hours, the dough would have not only increased in size but would also be wonderfully fluffy. Knead the dough again to spread the existing moisture well.
  4. Dust the cooking floor with a little bit of All Purpose Flour, place the dough, and use a rolling pin to make an 1/2 inch thick Chappati. If you are good with your hand, you can also flatten the dough neatly on the cooking surface (Italian way).
  5. Now raw pizza base is ready. Grease the surface of Pizza Baking pan with Olive Oil very well. Shift raw pizza to the pan now(otherwise shifting is very messy).
  6. Spread a teaspoon of Olive Oil evenly over the Pizza. On the top of that spread tomato sauce or puree evenly.
  7. Now spread shredded Mozzarella Cheese on the top of the Pizza. Don't bother about extreme ends as the cheese is going to melt on heating (Suggestions for other topping are given at the end).
  8. Pre-heat the oven to 500 degree before baking.
  9. Place the Pizza into the oven and bake for 10mins. When the corners are darker red and slightly crispy the pizza is ready. In some ovens, it may take 15 mins. But it is good idea to check from time to time.
  10. Remove the pizza and use pizza cutter or sharp knife to cut slices for serving Plain Cheese Pizza.

Varieties of Pizza Topping

You can also add variety to your Pizza making.

-- On top of the Mozzarella Cheese spread, add a bit of basil powder or basil leaves if available, Olive Oil, freshly ground Black Pepper powder and a pinch of salt for great aroma and taste.

-- If you want extra cheese, add Parmesan Cheese to this Pizza.

-- Deep Dish or Regular Pizza depends how thick a Pizza you are making with a rolling pin.

-- You can add cut Jalepeno Chilli, Black Olives, Regular Olives, chopped Onions, slices of Pineapple, slices or Tomato or any other topping you like over the shreaded Mozzarella spread.

-- You can also add sauted vegetables of your choice. For this take the softer form the vegetable, saunt it in Olive Oil and Onion, add it to Pizza.

-- For those who like to add spice to the Pizza and create their own versions, well, just go ahead. All that matter is good, tasty and healthy food. Some of the choices could be: cut eggplant(or brinjal), saunted with Oil, some spice Powder or fresh Black Pepper powder, cooked very well and strained of excess oil. Spread it on the top over the cheese. Or take baby artichokes, remove the skin, cut the top off, keep them in lemon water for some time, chop them very well, saunt it with Oil and Pepper.
