Hi! My name is Leena and I live in Dallas. I love to surf through the recipes. My husband who's stayed all his life here didn't enjoy the Indian home cooked food before, but as I try out the new recipes give here, he's begun liking it. Here's a simple recipe for Potato soup which is liked a lot by Americans. Try it and enjoy it!

Potato Soup

Ingredients

5-6 medium sized potatoes, peeled and diced
1 medium sized onion, diced
1 bunch of carrots, celery, leeks, parsely
15gms butter/margarine/ghee
1 cup of milk
500ml of chicken stock
cheddar cheese(grated)

Method

  1. Saute onions and all the soup vegetables in some butter/ghee.
  2. Add the diced potatoes to it.
  3. Add the chicken stock to it and let it boil till all the vegetables are tender.
  4. With a masher or a fork, mash all the potatoes and add milk to it.

  6. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Serve hot with cheddar cheese sprinkled over it.
  8. Tastes real good with some bread sticks.
