I love making dishes that are simple, with a few ingredients, take very little cooking time yet are unique and have a great flavor. I think this is a great recipe for people pressed for time (I guess we all qualify ).

Japanese Fried Rice

Ingredients

1 tsp Ginger (finely chopped)
1 tsp Garlic (finely chopped)
2 large Onions (chopped )
2 large Eggs
1 Carrot finely chopped
1 Green Pepper chopped
1 tbsp dark Soya Sauce
1/2 stick of Butter
Salt and Pepper to taste
1 tbsp of Red Chilly powder
3 cups of Cooked Rice (jasmine rice preferred)

Method:

  1. In a thick bottom pan, heat butter and add ginger garlic and onions. Saute until soft.
  2. Add carrot and green pepper and saute further.
  3. Break in eggs and cook scrambled with veg until golden brown.
  4. Fold in cooked rice with soy sauce salt chilly powder and pepper.
  5. Fry the rice in the mixture for a few minutes. Serve hot.
