Cheese Pie
Ingredients
- half a can (the small Kraft cheese cans) ... of cheese.. grated
- a large onion chopped fine
- a couple cloves of garlic, smashed to paste
- a spoon of butter ( or enuff to saute the onion)
- an assortment of veggies... carrots, cauliflower, potato, french
beans, peas... diced fine, boiled separetely (semi-cooked really)...
(about a cup of each)
- half a cup of cornflour (not sure of this proportion)
- 2 cups of chicken or any other stock
- pepper powder.. to taste
To make the sauce:
- Saute the onions in butter till transparent and really soft, then add
the garlic and saute.
- Heat up the stock
- In half a cup, add a couple spoons of the cornstarch, spoon by spoon
stirrin up till it is smooth
- When smooth, add it to the sauted onions, andstir well (make sure the
flame is on low, else it will burn)
- Keep addin the cornflour till it is over, and the stock too... make
sure to keep stirring so that no lumps are formed
- Add 2 thirds of the grated cheese and stir well
- Add pepper powder to taste
Once the Sauce is ready:
- Add the precooked (semi-cooked) veggies , stir them in well, and put
in a baking dish
- Cover with the balance cheese and a dusting of pepper
- Bake for 15-20 mins on a low temperature

every Christmastime
