Hello,
My name is Muskaan from Dubai and I am posting my favorite dal `Khatti Dal'. Here's the recipe:

Khatti Dal

Ingredients

1 cup Masoor Dal
1 tbsp Ginger/Garlic paste
2 ripe Tomatoes
Pinch of Turmeric
Red Chilli Powder (to taste)
Curry Leaves
Coriander Leaves
Salt
2 Lemons

For the baghaar

Zeera, whole Red Chillies
1 pod Garlic
Curry Leaves, Red Chilli Powder

Method:

  1. Boil the washed dal with tomatoes, ginger, garlic paste, red chilli powder, turmeric and salt.
  2. Mash with ladle once totally softened.
  3. Add fresh curry leaves, coriander and all of the lemon juice.
  4. Heat oil, add zeera, whole red chillies, crushed garlic and red chilli powder in that order.
  5. Cover immediately with lid. Serve hot.
