Tuvar Dal

Ingredients

1 cup Tuvar dal
3 tbsp Oil
1 spoon Dhania
1 spoon Kali Mirchi
2 spoon Jeera
1 spoon Mustard seeds
4 Red Chillies
Few Curry leaves
1/2 cup Grated Coconut
2 Onions
2 Tomatoes
1/2 spoon Turmeric powder
Chopped Coriander leaves

Method:

  1. Boil one cup tuvar dal in pressure cooker and keep aside.
  2. In a kadai put one spoon oil and fry one table spoon tuvar dal, one spoon dhania, one spoon kali mirch, one spoon jeera, four red chillies till brown remove it and grind with half cup coconut and grind it to a smooth paste.
  3. Heat the kadai with two table spoon oil, put one spoon of mustard and jeera when it splutters put few curry leaves two cut onions, two tomatoes and fry till done. Add boiled dal, turmeric powder let it boil. Add salt and ground paste. Add water to bring it to required consistancy and let it boil for some more time.
  4. Add chopped coriander leaves. Dal is ready to serve with chappathi or rice.
