Hi!
My name is Sujata and I live in Mumbai. I'm sending you all a recipe for "Moong Dal Wadas". Hope you enjoy it. My e-mail i-d is " Sujatajoshi@indiainfo.com

Moong Dal Wadas

Ingredients

2 cups whole Moong Dal
2 Onions (medium), finely chopped
3 tbsp Besan (or as required for binding)
1 tsp Jeera seeds
1 tbsp Green Chillies, finely chopped
1 tbsp Kothmir, finely chopped
1 tbsp Ginger-Garlic, finely chopped
1/2 tsp Haldi
1/2 tsp Red Chilli powder
Salt to taste
Oil for deep frying

Method:

  1. Soak the moong dal for about 7-8 hours.(even overnight will do).
  2. In a mixie, grind the dal with very little water to make a semi-thick paste.
  3. To this paste add the remaining ingredients (except oil) and mix well. Adjust the consistency by adding besan or little water, as may be required.
  4. Heat oil in a kadahi. Drop small sized balls of the moong dal mixture and fry till golden brown in colour.
  5. Serve with Sauce or Green Chutney.

Tip: When the wadas are light golden, remove and flatten them. Deep fry once again. This will make the Moong Dal Wadas "crispier". Enjoy.
