A big hi to all cooking lovers. This is Roohi Rizvi from Minneapolis, MN (USA).I am a housewife and recently saw this site. I think its the best site, help us in trying new dishes and lots more. Here is one recipe from me. Truly its my mom's recipe. My hubby like these Kababs very much and me too. Hope you all would like this.

Galawat Ke Kababs

Ingredients

500 gm Minced Meet(Qeema)
100 gm Raw Papaya(kachcha papita)
20 gm Coconut
3 tbsp Poppy Seeds(khaskhas)
3 full tbsp Ginger-garlic paste
1 tbsp garam masala powder
2 tbsp Besan(gram flour)
Red chilli powder & salt to taste
Oil for shallow frying

Method

  1. Grind the papaya, remember don't peel off the papaya.
  2. Mix grounded papaya, ginger-garlic paste and salt with minced meet and set aside for 5 hrs or whole night and its done when you feel it soft.
  3. Cut and fry the onions.
  4. Make a paste of coconut and khaskhas.
  5. Saute the besan without oil on tawa or frying pan.
  6. After marination mix garam masala, red chilli powder,coconut-khaskhas paste,sauted besan and fried onions into the marinated mixture.
  7. Make patties (tikkies) of this mixture and shallow fry untill they are brown.
  8. Enjoy hot kababs with green coriander chutney or tomato ketchup.
