Spicy Peas and Carrot Pulav
Ingredients
1) Onion (red) - 1 (Sliced vertically)
2) Green Chillies - 3
3) Peas - 1 cup
4) Carrot - 3 to 4 cut into small cubes
Spices:
1) Ginger - according to taste
2) Cloves -5
3) Cardamom -5
4) Cilantro - a few leaves
5) Chilli powder - 1/2 to 1 tspn.
Other:
1) Rice (Basmati or long grain) -2 cups
2) Butter - 3 tablespoon.(If you are diet conscious please use vegetable =
oil)
3) Salt (according to taste)
Method:
- Grind the ginger, cardamom and cloves to a fine paste adding a little water.
- Melt the butter or heat the vegetable oil.
- Add onions and fry for 3-4 minutes.
- Add the paste and fry a little more.
- Add cilantro leaves.
- Add the vegetables and fry again for some time.
- Add the rice and again keep stirring until the rice gets crispy.
- Add salt and chilli powder.
- Add exactly 2 and 3/4 cups water.
- Pressure cook for 8-10 minutes. (dont let it cook too long).
- Serve hot with Raita.
