Hi,
I am Jharna from Chandkheda, Ahmedabad to share you a Bengali recipe i.e. made from raw Kanthal. Hope you enjoy it.

Kanthal Curry

Ingredients

Raw Kanthal - 500 gms
Potato - 250 gms
Tomato - 250 gms, chopped
Tomato Puree - 1 cup
Curd - 1/2 cup
Onion Paste - 1/4 cup
Ginger Garlic Paste - 1/4 cup
Whole Garam Masala - few
Whole Jeera - 2 tsp
Bay Leaf - 4 nos
Garam Masala powder - 2 tsp
Salt - as per taste
Turmeric powder - 2 tsp
Red Chilli powder - 2 tsp
Oil - 1/2 cup
Water - 1 cup

Method:

  1. Wash and cut the Kanthal into square pieces and par boil it for 2 minutes with salt and turmeric powder.
  2. Cut potato into same shapes.
  3. Heat a kadai, and add oil. After temparing it, add whole garam masala, whole jeera and bay leaf into it.
  4. Add potato and fry it till golden brown, and remove it from kadai. Now add all masalas and fry them untill oil removes from masalas.
  5. Add Kanthal and potatoes into it and mix all. Cover it for 10 minutes in a slow flame. When oil removes add water and turn to boil it. Again cover it for 5 minutes and add garam masala powder into it and removes from heat.
  6. Serve hot with Rice or Chapaties.
