This is Rathi Selva again, Staying in Denver with my husband. This is my third Recipe, first one was Pepper Mushroom, Second was Mutton Kothu Curry. My husband loves this dish very much, I thank my mom , since I have learnt this from her only, She is a very good cook. Meat Ball Curry (Vurandai Curry)
Ingredients
* Lamb or Goat minced - 2 lb
* Ginger & Garlic Paste - 3 tsp.
* Onion Chopped - 2 nos.
* Tomato - 1 and a half.
* Gram Flour - 2 tsp.
* Red Chilly powder - 4 tsp.
* Turmeric powder - 1 tsp.
* Cloves, Bay leaves - As needed.
* Coconut - Either 4 tsp shredded powder or few grinded in mixie.
* Oil - 3 tsp.
* Salt - As per taste.
* Cilantro (Coriander Leaves) - few for seasoning.
Method:
- Goat Meat or Lamb must be minced first without adding water in the mixie, can add few drop of water if it too sticky in the mixie (if there exist water means put the mutton in the Stainer and leak out all the waters).
- To the minced meat add-1 tsp of ginger and garlic paste, Half a spoon of Turmeric Powder, 2 tsp of Red Chilly Powder, 2 tsp of Gram Flour powder, 2 pinch of salt -Mix all these to the minced meat, make sure that you shouldn't add water to this mix.
- To the above meat mix make a small or medium balls of that and keep it in a big tray.
- In the mean time you should prepare curry for these balls, Take a deep big vessel, add oil and then add cloves, Bay leaves, add onions to this and fry till the onion turns brown in colour then add 2 tsp of ginger & Garlic paste then fry till it get well mixed with the onions.
- Add Turmeric powder (1/2 tsp), 2 tsp of Red Chilly Powder, finely
cut tomatoes, 2 tsp of Garam Masala Powder- Mix all the see and keep
it in a medium flame, then add 2 glasses of water, salt as per taste and
shredded Coconut Powder or Coconut grinded in mixie.
- Wait till the Prepared mixture (step 5) boils, let it cook for 10 min. Such that all the masala smell will be vanished.
- When it come to Semi-Gravy, Add all the rounded balls one-by-one
very carefully, After adding all the Meat Balls, immediately don't put
the spatula and disturb the balls, insted keep it in a medium flame and
cover with the Vessel Lid.
- After 5 or 10 min, you can stir it with a spatula. Let it cook for 10-15 min, finally garnish with Coriander leaves, this comes to nearly 30-40 balls with an lesser Meat lb.
This Recipe goes well with Mainly Coconut-Rice and other includes
Fried Rice, Veg. Pulav, Biryani, White Rice, Chappati, Naan, Dosa &
Idly. This recipe can be done in Party's as well as an Get-to-gethers, because in a short time you can prepare this dish and also the quantity will be more to serve such a crowd. Happy Cooking.
