I am Chithra Suresh again from Atlanta, USA. Here is my recipe to make "Paruppu Thogayal" (dhall chutney to say) a South Indian dish. Usually people do with toor dhal ...try this with moong dhal, the taste will be better.

Paruppu Thogayal

Ingredients

Moong dhal 250 gm
Red Chilli 7 or 8
Pepper 1 tsp
Coconut 4 tsp (grated)
Ghee 1 tsp to fry
Salt to taste

Method:

  1. Fry moong dhal in a tawa without any oil till it becomes golden brown and keep aside.
  2. Fry chillies & pepper too with little ghee or oil.
  3. Grind everything (fried moong dhal, pepper and chillies with coconut and salt with little water.) It will be good to taste with Milagu (pepper) Rasam that too when we are really sick with cold.
