Hi, I am Mrs Hema Sreedhar from Sydney. I visited this site accidentally and found it very interesting. I am delighted to share one of favourite mouth-watering and lip-smacking recipes which could be done within no time using a microwave, and also a handy one for the low-fat dessert.

My Email address is: Sreedhar@idx.com.au

Microwave Carrot (Gaajar) Halwa

Ingredients

2 cups freshly grated carrot (pick the orangy ones)
1/4 to 1/2 a cup skim milk powder (or can go in for full cream milk powder))
1 cup sugar)
1/4 tea spoon cardamom powder)
1/4 cup thickened cream (optional for weight watchers))
Fried Raisins, cashews and almonds for garnishing

Method:

  1. lace the freshly grated carrot in a microwaveable bowl (casserole) and cook it on high for 7-8 minutes.
  2. Remove it from the microwave and now add milk powder, sugar, thickened cream (optional) and cardamom powder and again return it to the microwave and cook on high for another 7-8 minutes.
  3. Remove it from the microwave and either serve it hot or cold after garnishing it with raisins, cashews and almonds.
  4. Can also be set in the fridge for real "Halwa" consistency.
