Paneer or cottage cheese is very popular and in north India it is used very widely. This dish can be used as a snack or starters. In its stuffing you can even add vegetables like peas, grated cauliflower, grated carrot etc. I have even tried with coriander chutney and it tastes delicious.

  3. Mix besan, water and salt into to mixture and keep it aside. This mixture should not be thin but thick.
  4. In a wok heat some oil and add cummin seed, mustard seeds and curry leaves and fry for few seconds.
  5. Next add onion, garlic and ginger and fry till golden in colour.
  6. Now mix mashed potatoes and keep on stirring for 5 minutes. Also stir in the green chillies and red chillies. When this is done let it cool.
  7. Now take out the paneer pieces from the marinade and put a thick coating of potato on each piece.
  8. Heat oil and dip this paneer piece in besan mixture and deep fry in oil till little red in colour.
  9. Enjoy this snack with tomato ketchup or coriander chutney.

Recipe Secret: If you are using frozen paneer, then before marinating thaw it completely. This stuffing can also be used between two slices of bread.
