Hi everyone,
I am Shamala from Ohio, USA. I love this site. I am not a very good cook but, when I have friends over for dinner, I always take the recipes from this site and follow them exactly and it turns out so good every time. I feel very proud of myself when they praise my cooking. (sometimes I tell them that I took the recipe from Bawarchi but, most of the time I like to take the credit. - hey! adding the salt and chilli powder "according to my taste" is not easy.) Anyway, here is a very simple way of making Cabbage salad that my mom-in-law taught me. Its very easy, tasty and healthy too. Hope you like it.

Cabbage Salad

Ingredients

1/2 small Cabbage finely cut
1/4 Tblsp Salt
1 Tblsp Oil
1 Tblsp Mustard seeds
Pinch of Turmeric powder

Method:

  1. Add the salt to the cut cabbage and keep aside.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and put the mustard seeds. When they start spluttering, add turmeric and the cabbage.
  3. Mix it and remove it immediately. (let it be a little crunchy)

I don't know the calories and all but, I know its cabbage and its kind of raw so, its got to be good for health.
