Spinach Lentil Vada
Ingredients
1) Lentil Dal - 2 Cups
2) Green Spinach Leaves - A handful
3) Red Chillies - 4 to 5
4) Salt - 1 Tsp
5) Ginger - 1 small piece
6) Mint leaves - 4 to 5
7) Asafoetida - A Pinch
8) Oil for frying
Method:
- Soak Lentil dal for 2 to 3 hours.
- Chop the spinach leaves into small pieces.
- Grind the lentil dal coarsly adding red chilli, salt and ginger and asafoetida.
- Add the spinach leaves to the batter.
- Heat some oil in the kadai.
- Flatten the prepared batter in a plastic sheet.
- Deep fry the vadas till golden brown.
- Serve hot with chutney or sauce.
Note: Add very little water while grinding the dal.
