Hi,
I enjoy browing through and picking recipes and trying them out from
Bawarchi. I was looking through the contributions and could not find a
almost daily Gujarathi bread called "Debru". So here is my
contribution.

Debru
Ingredients
1 spinach bunch cleaned and chopped finely
2 cups Wheat flour
1/2 teaspoon turmeric
1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
1 teaspoon dhania-jeera powder
1 teaspoon sugar
1 1/2 teaspoon ajwain
3 tablespoon vegetable oil
some sour yogurt to mix the dough.
salt to taste
Ghee to pan roast the debru.
Method:
- Add the chopped spinach to a bowl and add the flour, turmeric, chilli
powder, dhania-jeera, sugar, ajwain, salt and mix well. Add the oil and
mix well. Add the yogurt now knead into dough.
- Leave the dough in the refrigerator for a couple of hours or you can
immediately start cooking the theplas.
- Roll out the debru like chapatti and cook them in a pan by cooking
first on one side.
- Turn it over and add ghee. Turn to the other side and add some ghee
again.
- It should be cooked well on both sides.
