I am Raju and I am an avid cook who lives in Texas; I think all of you will like this scone recipe. If you have any questions/comments, email me at longhorn@gobills.net

Scone

Ingredients

3 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 cup sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup margarine or butter
1 well beaten egg

Method:

  1. Set oven to 425 F. Grease baking sheet
  2. Sift together flour, baking powder, sugar and salt
  3. Rub or cut marg/butter into mixture
  4. Add raisins and stir to mix well
  5. Pour egg into measure cup - beat and add to make 1 cup. Stir into flour mixture.
  6. Turn onto floured board - roll or pat til dough is 3/4 of inch thick. Use floured knife to cut into triangles. (This part I also don't do. What I do is just scoop and drop - they may not look as nice, but they still taste the same for half the effort!)

Bake 10-12 minutes til Brown - should make 2 dozen
