Capsicum and Peas Pulav
Quantity: The recipe given would make sufficient for 2 adult people.
Ingredients
1. 2 cups of rice
2. Capsicum-2 big or 3 if medium sized(cut into small cubes)
3. Green peas-1/2 cup
4. Coconut Powder - 1/2 cup
5. Chana Dal or Gram - 1 tbsp
6. Mustard seeds or Rai -1/2 tbsp
7. Jeera or Cumin seeds - 1/2 tbsp
8. MTR Sambar powder - 1 tbsp
9. Vegetable Oil - 2 tbsp
10. Salt to taste
11. Finely chopped Coriander or Cilantro for garnishing
Method:
- Wash the rice thoroughly, cook it and keep it aside.
- In a deep vessel, put the oil, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds and chana dal.
- When the dal is slightly brown add the capsicum pieces and cook for
2-3 mins, then add peas.
- When cooked properly, add sambar powder, coconut powder and salt,mix well and let it cook for 2-3 mins.
- Add precooked rice to this mixture, take care that the rice has cooled enough. If you add hot rice, the grains get mashed and it becomes sticky.
- Garnish with coriander and serve hot with curd or yogurt.
