Spicy Bhaingan Masala

Ingredients

Bhaingans Medium size - 1/2 kg (5-6)

For Gravy
1.Clove - 1/2 tsp
2.Kashmir Elaichi - 1/2 tsp
3.Dalchin - 2 strips
4.Onion - 1 big
5.Green Chillies - 5-6
6.Garlic Cloves - 3
7.saunf - 1 tsp
8.Elaichi - 3-4 cloves
9.Ginger - 1/2 cm
10.Tomato - 1 large
12.Tamarind - a small lump

For Stuffing

1.Udath Dal - 2 tsp
2.Coriander seeds - 1tsp
3.Methi seeds - 1 tsp
4.Til seeds - 1tsp
5.Dry Red Chillies - 3-4
6.Groundnut(peeled)-2 tsp
7.Grated Coconut -2tsp

Method

  1. Grind all the ingredients for stuffing and keep aside .
  2. Wash the Bhaingans and slit them twice in 2 opposite directions.
  3. Leave the stems as they are.
  4. Now stuff them with the ground ingredients.
  5. Next grind all the ingredients given for gravy and keep the paste aside.
  6. Take oil in pan and after it heats up add the paste and let it fry it till the oil separates from the gravy.
  7. Add the stuffed Bhaingan to the pan and any of the powder left from the stuffing over the pan with lid till the Bhaingan cooks well.

Your spicy Bhaingan Masala is ready. They taste yummy with Chapathis as well as rice.
