Coriander Pulao

Ingredients

Fresh green peas - one bowl
Medium sized onion -3 cut into long slices
Rice - 2 cups
Salt to taste
Oil 3 - 4 table spoon
Jeera - 2 tsp

For grinding
Coriander leaves - one bunch
Green chillies 10
Ginger - one inch
Onion - 1
Grated coconut - one cup (or half coconut)

Method:

  1. Wash the rice and keep to one side.
  2. Grind all the above ingredients together.
  3. In a pan heat the oil and add jeera, once it splutters and the sliced onions.
  4. Add the green peas once the onions turn golden brown and fry for two minutes,
  5. Then add the ground paste and fry well for a few minutes.
  6. Now add the washed rice and keep stirring for two minutes without adding water.
  7. Add required amount of water and salt and allow the rice to cook..
  8. The water needed to cook the rice should be less that normal as u would have already added water to grind
Note: The whole process can be done in a pressure cooker or electric rice cooker directly. A tasty rice dish for a great lunch for the family
