Hello my name is Fouzia Lakai. I live in dubai, and I am not so interested in cooking, but this site has helped me a lot, I have tried various recipes given here, and I would like to share one of my mothers recipes with you all. And if you like it do let me know at Fouzia_lakai@hotmail.com.

Whole masoor Daal

Ingredients

1 cup whole masoor daal.
1tbsp ginger garlic paste.
1 tomatoes.
1tsp red chille powder.
1tbsp coriander powder.
1tsp zeera powder.
1/2 tsp haldi.
a few curry leaves.
1/2 a cup tamarind soaked in water
coriander leaves for garnish.
salt.

For baghaar...
1 tsp mustard seeds.
1 tsp whole zeera.
a few curry leaves.
2 cloves garlic flakes.
oil.

Method

  1. Wash daal and put all ingredients except tamarind and pressure cook.
  2. When done remove from cooker and put daal in a cooking vessel, mash a little, then add tamarind juice,and cook for 10 minutes.
  3. In a frying pan heat oil and add all the baghaar ingredients and when it begins to splutter add baghaar to the daal.
  4. Close gas and garnish with coriander leaves.

Serve with boiled rice or riots
