Hi,
I am Godhavari. Here is my third recipe. Hope you will enjoy preparing this recipe.
My email is godhavariv@hotmail.com.

Yellow Split Peas Vadai

Ingredients

Yellow split peas ____________ 1 packet
Green Chilies ____________ 6 pieces
Ginger ____________ a small piece
Onion ____________ 1 large (Chopped)
Raw Potato (Grated) ____________ 1 cup
Coriander leaves ____________ a few (Chopped)
Curry leaves ____________ a few
Saunf (Fennel seed) _____ ____ 1 tsp
Garlic ____________ 2 flakes
Salt ____________ as much as needed for your taste
Crisco Oil ____________ as much as needed for frying

Method:

  1. Soak the yellow split peas for 2 hours.
  2. Grind the yellow split peas with the ginger, chilies, and saunf.
  3. Do not grind for a long time; stop when it is a coarse paste.
  4. Add the coriander leaves, curry leaves, onion, grated potato, and salt.
  5. Heat the oil in a frying pan.
  6. Take small balls of the dough and pat it into a round shape.
  7. Place them in the hot oil, being careful not to splash any oil on you.
  8. Wait for some time, and then turn them over.
  9. Fry until both sides are golden brown.
  10. Remove from the oil and place it on a plate covered with a paper towel.
  11. Allow the paper towel to absorb the excess oil.
  12. Serve hot with coconut chutney or mint chutney.
  13. Hope your guests will like it.
