Hi!!!
Its Meenu again from Antwerp, Belgium!!! Hope all of you would have enjoyed my previous recipe Seven in One. I got good response for that from some of our Bawarchi fans. So I wish to share one more of my favorites with you!!!

Channa Pulao

Ingredients

Basmati rice - 1 cup
2 onion paste
1/2 cup green masala (Grind mint leaves, Coriander leaves, Garlic, Coconut and Green Chillies - as per your taste)
Ghee - 2 tbsp
Oil/Ghee - 8 Tbsp
Kabuli Channa dal (Cholee ) - 1-1/2 cup (soaked in water for 6 hrs and pressure cooked)
Water - 1-1/2 cup
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt
Lemon juice - 1 Tbsp
Tomato and onion slices for garnishing

Method:

  1. Soak the rice in water for 15 min. Drain out all the water and fry the rice in a pan with 2 tbsp of ghee for 5 min.
  2. Heat 8 Tbsp of ghee/oil in a Pressure Pan/Pressure Cooker and add the onion paste and fry till it becomes light brown.
  3. Then add the green masala, cooked Kabuli Channa Dal (cholee), Water, Salt, Turmeric powder and fried rice. Cook this mixture for one whistle.
  4. Garnish with sliced onions and tomatoes.
  5. Pour 1 tbsp of lemon juice while serving.
  6. Now the delicious CHANNA PULAO is ready to eat!!! joy and reply to me!!!
